School: Blue Valley Northwest High School
Number of Students Impacted: all science students
Amount Requested: $1,006.25 by 4/30/2010
Details: If we want to continue to keep live animals in our science classrooms, we have to supply them with food and other maintenance equipment such as special lights, ground cover, medicines, etc. Having live animals only enhances our classes. In addition, if we want to continue to save our planet, our children must learn and interact with species that they may otherwise never be introduced to. Students will gain an understanding that every living creature is important, can be loved, and should be saved. Without real-life experience, the connection is not made. With your help, we can keep the animals that we currently have in our classrooms.
