The Answer is: Test Review Made Fun
Prairie Star Elementary

What was the purpose of this project? Today much time in the classroom is spent in reviewing for state tests, and it can be tedius for the children. We were looking for an effective method of reviewing that would spark students' interest and give them some fun, to boot.

Did the project fulfill that purpose? If so, how? The project very much fulfills that purpose. In fact, we are finding that it is capable of doing even more things than we originally thought. Furthermore, looking to the future, many science text publishers will be including packets of questions that we will be able to program into the Jeopardy game for enjoyable practice throughout the year.

Please include the number of students involved in this project, grade levels and subject areas covered. This year, 108 students will be involved in the fourth grade. All subject areas are covered, since the game program lends itself to category review.

Describe how Foundation funds and this project benefited students. Without foundation funds, this purchase could not have been considered. Sometimes wonderful, yet expensive technology appears on the market and teachers just wish it could be in their classroom. We wished...it came true.

Do you feel this project should be replicated in other schools throughout the district? Please explain. We highly recommend the Jeopardy game to all at any level. It can be adapted easily for any subject at any level.

Other comments: Thanks to all who contributed to this project! We have such imaginative parents at PSE, and their fundraising idea was fun and creative. Special thanks to our resident artist, Jill Hall, who painted over 50 travel mugs to help our efforts.
