Role Plays With Puppets

What was the purpose of this project?
I am utilizing the puppets so that students can role play various social sitations. Puppets provide a safe format for children to express feelings and try out choices in the decision making process. I even have some older students who want to write a play for younger children about making positive decisions in social situations and then perform it for them using the puppets. The puppets are big motivators.
Did the project fulfill that purpose? If so, how?
It is fulfilling the purpose. Children are very willing to use the puppets for role playing.
Please include the number of students involved in this project, grade levels and subject areas covered.
I would estimate that 50 first graders have used them. I've had 42 kindergarteners use them. There have been at least 3 third graders and about 18 fifth graders use the puppets so far.
Describe how Foundation funds and this project benefited students.
I think students are excited about discussing decision making using the puppets. Children love a play format and this is fun and safe.
Do you feel this project should be replicated in other schools throughout the district? Please explain.
I believe many of the counselors already utilize puppets. I would think it would be good at any school.

I am very grateful to the persons who donated the funds to buy the puppets. I am also grateful to Dr. Sportsman and his father who made me a puppet stand.
