Capitol Federal Foundation Presents $25,000 Gift to BVEF

           During Capitol Federals ribbon cutting ceremony held Tuesday, February 17, for its 41st office, 19th in greaterKansas City at 151st & Nall, Capitol Federal Foundation presented a large replica check of a $25,000 gift to the Blue Valley Educational Foundation (BVEF).  The BVEF executive director Kate Allen, BVEF board president Tom Mitchell and deputy superintendent for the Blue Valley Schools, Dr. Al Hanna, accepted the check from Capitol Federal chairman and CEO John B. Dicus, Capitol Federal Foundation president Jack H. Hamilton, Capitol Federal first vice president Rod Martin and 151st & Nall vice president-branch manager Christopher Collins.

            President Hamilton stated, "Capitol Federal is pleased to provide this gift to the Blue Valley Educational Foundation in recognition of Capitol Federals two new Leawood locations, the 151st & Nall office and the Village of Seville location at 131st & State Line to open in late spring.  Capitol Federal has been a supporter of the Blue Valley Schools, not only monetarily but also through employee volunteers.  As a part of the Leawood community, we are happy to further our commitment to the Blue Valley system."

            BVEF executive director Kate Allen remarked, "We are excited to be the beneficiary of this generous award.  These funds have a dual purpose, with Capitol Federal serving as the underwriting sponsor of the spring teaching grants awarded to district educators, as well as the sponsor of the foundation's new state of the art, interactive website.  We thank Capitol Federal for your generous support of public education, and we truly are grateful to the bank and Capitol Federal Foundation as leading supporters of our students and teachers."
