The Blue Valley Educational Foundation announced the appointment of five new board members beginning their terms on July 1. They include:

• Yijing Brentano from Sprint will serve on the fund development committee
• Elise Chapline past BVN Parent Booster Club President will serve on the community relations committee
• Greg Musil from Polsinelli Shughart PC will serve on the fund development committee
• Nancy Saugstad from Polsinelli Shughart PC will serve on the grant committee
• Sherman Titens from Titens Consulting will serve on the marketing committee

            Tammy Edwards will serve as president from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010 and Steve Wilkinson will serve as president-elect. Todd Louis will serve as the treasurer and Dr. Al Hanna will serve as secretary for BVEF beginning July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.

            Also at the meeting, the board said good-bye to several long term board members, including Rudy Beese, who served three terms (six years) as a board member on the finance committee; Mark Cosby, who served three terms and as president from July 1, 2006 - December 31, 2007; and Phil Spencer who served one term as a board member.

            Wendy Soldini was recognized as the Julie Miller Volunteer of the Year for BVEF for 2008-09. She has served numerous years on the Grant, Sunflower and Community Relations committees.
