GRANTs of Educational Excellence, Awards and Scholarships

The Blue Valley Educational Foundation was created in the fall of 1990 in response to changes in tax-based support for public education. The Foundation was created to help supplement the needs of students in the district through teacher grants, student scholarships, school grants and supplemental programs. Altogether, the Foundation has awarded more than $1.6 million in grants, scholarships and special programs.

Dr. David Benson Award

To honor the eleven-year Blue Valley superintendent, Dr. David Benson, BVEF created an award in his name for the elementary and secondary Kansas Teachers of the Year nominees. These two $2,500 awards are for programs or projects at the recipients' schools.
